Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says sequester cuts are already causing long lines at airports. She's advising air travelers to get to airports extra early. This morning, Napolitano said TSA officers and customs agents are already being denied overtime, hiring freezes are in place and furlough notices are being sent out. She also said air passengers shouldn't yell at TSA workers, since they're not responsible for the sequester situation.
President Obama was forced to sign off on the sequester after weeks of warning about the consequences if Congress didn't act to avoid it. Deep spending cuts are also expected in the military.
