(KFYI News) Sgt. First Class Cory Remsburg is an Army Ranger who served ten tours to Afghanistan and Iraq.
During the president's State of the Union Address, the Gilbert native received a long standing ovation flanked by his father and First Lady Michelle Obama.
On Remsburg's tenth tour, he was hit by an IED equivalent to a 500 pound impact on his brain. His best friend was killed.
Remsburg was flung into a canal where he was found and air lifted to safety. He spent months in a coma and years in rehab. Remsburg says he would like to give meaning to his life by "inspiring the uninspired."
